Who says boys are not nurturing?

This week Jonas and I sat around like Granny and Grandpa and shucked our corn! While we were doing that, Caleb was getting all the little worms out of the silk and carefully transporting them to his grocery buggy. He was giving them some silk to nibble on and taking them on free rides! I got a real kick out of it!

We had a wonderful 4th of July with our family at the lake. We ate our own watermelon from our garden and churned homeade ice cream. We went out on the boat to watch the fireworks and Caleb fell asleep despite the amazing display of pyrotechnics.

Caleb caught his first fish up there this time. It was a nice size one and he was pretty proud. Once again he jumped off the top deck barely slowing down long enough to tighten up his life jacket. Seriously, it scares me and that kid doesn't even slow down nor does he come up sputtering from the impact...only smiling...cracks me up. I keep waiting to find something that really scares him.

We had a fun July 3rd having good friends over to play in the creek, go to "secret beach" (as Jeb calls it) and play in the mud at the falls. We had some yummy smores on an oddly cool summer night in the South! Caleb and Jeb were in heaven.
