Hurricane Ridge: Olympic National Park, Wonderful Washington Pt. II

Hurricane Ridge is where we started at Olympic National Park. Great deer views and even some of the most spectacular wildflower views I’ve ever seen at 6,000 feet.  I feel thankful that many of the days we were in Washington were those rare clear, sunny, blue days they dream of all winter.  One morning was pretty foggy, but we kept hiking and by the time we reached our destination the view was really clear.  From the Ridge, you can see of course, Mt. Olympus and many of the glaciers that make the area famous.  We could see Canada (British Columbia), the Strait of Juan De Fuca, and Vancouver Island on many of our hikes/views!

Comet Falls near dark.  Most days were were exploring from sun up to sun down.

I really enjoyed learning a lot about Salmon!  One type only swims upstream during odd years.  HOW ODD.  There were hatcheries of all varieties seemingly about every 30 miles!

Seattle and the Puget Sound from the plane!
