First Day of School/Greenville Drive.

This week when I picked Jeb up from school he said this…”I barely got to school and I was missing yall.” No wonder I miss such a kind soul in my life all day.

The boys are missing each other while Jeb is at school and sometimes Cay will look at me and say , “let’s go pick up Je-Je (as he calls him).” Even though they are always thrilled to see each other they are still fighting within 5 minutes of seeing each other? I don’t get it?

TCTC is in full-swing and I am teaching a new online ENG 101 class this semester. New= lots of work.

The Drive game was so much fun this summer. I got to see my cousin on her bday and I got to see a former Seneca Middle and TCTC student in action interning for the Drive. Jeb had fun getting a helmet ice cream and seeing the mascot. My Dad used to take me to see the Greenville Braves and I LOVED the helmet ice creams! We also went to Mast General before the game and loaded up on some great finds and wonderful candy! We made it on the big screen once at the game and I was being really silly and Jeb looked totally mortified. It was hilarious. As you can see, the mascot enjoyed giving my dad a hard time.

Caleb goes out every morning after breakfast and loves his "Sarah Belle"...he started calling her by her middle name and now we all do. She was Sarah for a year and now she is SB. She follows him around like a lost pup...she still follows him even after he is TOTALLY getting on her nerves. It is funny to watch her try to run from him and then yet 5 mins later she is back following him around the tree house and yard wherever he goes/rides. I hope she never gets hit b/c although she is precious looking...she is NOT SMART. This boy LOVES his puppy. Since the two have bonded she also now rides on the golf cart with us like a little bobbing dog...it is cute.

Mountain weekend

We had a wonderful trip to Brevard this past weekend. Caleb's favorite this is roasting marshmallows and Jeb loves riding his bike. We rode bikes along the river at Davidson River campground and Jeb managed to hit EVERY puddle in the park. His back side was COVERED in mud, but it was fun to watch! Sliding Rock was as refreshing as we remembered and even Caleb made his first trip down the slick rock! This trip is a GREAT family tradition. Since Brevard is basically a rain forest we did get some rain on Sat. It didn't slow the kids down. They had a good time exploring the Cradle of Forestry museum and the old cabins around the place. We made 2 trips to Sonic and climbed one mountain (see pics of us on top). We also hiked to this field full of wild blueberries--we are still enjoying the sweet treats we picked at home! It was like a treasure hunt out there. There were blueberries EVERYWHERE we walked. Our new camper worked out perfectly. God is always good to bring us buyers for our used stuff and to help us find used stuff that works for us! Buying used is the only reason we have anything and I can stay home...praise the Lord! When we got home we were greeted by cousin C and her pup...the boys were delighted to see them!

Lake Jo.

We had so much fun today despite a little rain at Lake Jo. It is a COOL mountain lake. I can't remember the last time I wasn't hot...but we weren't today. It was cool and even rained somewhat BUT we didn't let the cramp our style. I slalomed and we swam and cooked out and jumped off the boat like always. After we found a nice island, the boys had fun trying to catch fish and digging in the sand. My favorite part is always going to "Whale Rock" as my Dad has called it since we were about 7. Sometimes you can jump off and free fall in the water and then some day you can just jump a few feet (like today) and use the other side like a baby pool! It is the BEST place to swim ever. The mountains were pretty, the water was cool, and the skiiing was smoooooooth today! Thanks be to God...we live an hour away from so much fun and so much beauty in many directions.

Treehouse fun...

The treehouse has been a fun adventure. We are a little sad that it is finished being built. It has been a fun family project. Jonas designed it on the computer and let Jeb add elements (some still yet to come) that he wanted..."a climbing wall, swing, balance beam, front porch and upstairs with a ladder." Daddy has added things like a zip line to get out! Jeb has really enjoyed building custom benches with his Daddy (see picture). We have to paint it, add the wall, and zipline. The structure is complete and we had our first lunch out there yesterday with Nana Mac and Papa D.

In other news, MJ turned one! She had a fun couture cake and pool party and was delightful!

We also had a great tubing trip this week. A few bruises, but it was relaxing and fun.

Beach Blast 2010

All I can say is summer is so much fun. We had a blast at the beach with our friends that are like family and our real family too! Caleb and Jeb enjoyed having 3 "sisters" as Cay says and we enjoyed Baby "Saucy" too. We had a good time cooling off at Spray Play, going to the campground water park 2 days, hitting the beach, and riding bikes.
Uncle Paul looked at the boys teeth and gave us good news! We are sugar bug free for another year! We had a nice dinner with family--yummy shrimp and grits. And, cousin Noah got to camp for the first time with us.
Caleb enjoys playing in 6 inches of water whether at the water park or at the beach in his hole we dug out. He is such a happy fella and rather unflappable (unless I desert him at the water park to ride the slides with the big kids--hee--it is funny to me Sabrina and Libby!)
We made so many great memories DESPITE the heat! Jeb is an amazing swimmer and an even more unbeliveably in shape biker! He was unstoppable around the paths...he kept the pace with us and could go just as long as us. It was great. We enjoyed the kids and each other. Camping is a lot of work, but it is relaxing too in an odd way! The AC in the camper was stellar so I read and relaxed and napped with Caleb most afternoons. Those will be all the naps I'll get this year!
