Camping and then there's faux-camping

This post is what happens when I have been working and when I have not been working we have been camping or faux-camping.  You know what camping is...so faux-camping is when you take your bikes, lunch/snacks, changes of clothes, fishing rods, and even some friends or family and spend a morning/day/evening in the mountains, but you go home and sleep in your bed.  When we have not been camping lately its seems I'm packing to faux-camp.  This post is a compilation of about 5 outings!

We had fun with J's family at the Lake when they were really camping and we went to swim/ride bikes and cook-out at a local campground.  This is where I snapped Caleb holding Daddy's hand.

Our horses stayed at Camp Chatuga this summer!  So, since our friends were also there at the camp we went one day that they were having fun family activities and visited our steads and our friends.  The boys got to do some archery and shooting and ride their own horses at camp!  So funny!

These three in a canoe were a mess.
We also spent a weekend at the State park.  I caught the biggest fish of the six this night. Cay even caught a Turtle!  You should have seen J trying to get the hook out of a turtle's mouth without losing a finger.

I love Jeb's  lake hair.

Jeb got to experience a high dive at the state park that I remember being SUPER scared of when I was little.  It is about 15 feet high!

Caleb kissing a fish!

We had another fun outing at a lake with my family in NC.  This lake is super-peaceful and since it is in the mountains the water is so refreshing!
Me and my boyz after a sweaty bike ride!
This summer the boys have spent astronomical amounts of time catching fish with poles and in nets.  We have broken 2 nets and lost another 1.  Beware minnows of the world: JEB IS FAST!  If he gets YOU, then his little brother will smother you "playing" with you.

We found a new sliding rock this summer that is closer than the Mac Daddy of sliding rocks and a bit more appropriate for young children!  There are also two giant holes in the falls that visitors can jump into and the 56 degree water is over your head!  Scary, but cool!

 Nice form Jebbie!

And, it would not be a summer without stopping at least once at Mr. Jack's place to feed his deer.  This year they dined on Wheat Thins.

 The family grillin' in NC.
 Caleb would fish for HOURS.
Yup, Bradley fell off this backward at one point.

Our camp site had tons of climbable trees around it and this entertained all our guests!

Fun at the pool with buddies!

Does he not look professional?   The dude is pointing and he's like, "shush, man I got this... I have watched many Westerns."

We discovered that Caleb LOVES root beer as much as Daddy does-yuck.
