The Olympic Peninsula: Wild, Wonderful Washington Pt.III

Callaham Bay, WA

Desolation Lighthouse

We went through Forks, WA, where parts of the new Twilight film were shot.  This little ghost town was all abuzz!  I also had the best salmon burger and milkshake here!!!  Nothing like a great meal after a long hike.

Many rivers that were not teal, were this milky color.

Merymere Falls

Rialto Beach on the Olympic Peninsula

This is low tide on the Olympic Peninsula. I was pretty uptight about getting caught on a beach hike at high tide and I am so thankful to report that we were never trapped!

We hiked as far out as you can in America, to Capa Avala.  I told J I would take his pic on this rock out in the ocean at low tide b/c this was as close as he could get to Alaska for a long, long time.

There were 4 bald eagles flying out at Cape Avala when we reached there.  It was so wild to see so many bald eagles in their natural habitat!

Cliffs on the beach reminded me some of Hawaii!

No shells, but beautiful rocks.

The Famous Hole in the Wall--at High Tide.

Sol Duc Falls--three falls in one.

spectacular mist at Sol Duc.

A great rainforest hike/rainbow.

Beautiful wildflowers in the rainforest.
